UK Staycations for you and your Furry Friends!

April 13, 2021

Let’s all cross our fingers but it’s looking likely that from 17th May you can travel again! Are you thinking about booking yourself and your pooch a staycation? The recent rise in dog-friendly holidays in the UK, and these remaining a favourite for Brits this Summer, is definitely a positive to come out of this past year.

We’ll be sharing with you some of the best dog-friendly holiday destinations for you to explore…

  1. The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, Yorkshire

Based in Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire, The Devonshire Arms sits in 33,000 acres of Yorkshire Dales countryside and is a popular holiday destination. The stone brick main house built in 1610, sits on the Bolton Abbey Estate which belongs to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. You won’t be short of dog walking spots due to its fantastic location, placed by the River Wharfe in Wharfedale. This is also only six miles away from the market town of Skipton – the best of both worlds!

Facilities include parking, a bar and restaurant, spa, wi-fi, fitness centre, pool, room service and tennis courts. Of the 40 rooms available, they are categorised into Deluxe, Luxury and Superior – some with older more traditional décor, some with a modern twist.

If you’re looking for an old-fashioned, relaxing getaway then this is the place for you!

It offers six dog-friendly Garden Rooms with lawns and terraces allowing space for your pooch to run around in, whilst keeping it private just for you and your party. Merry Harriers also offer five luxury dog-friendly Shepherd’s Huts for the glorious glampers among us!

Your furry friends are welcome to join you for all of your meals in the breakfast room, fireside bar and the main dining room.

3. St Michaels Resort, Cornwall

St Michaels Resort is a luxury dog-friendly hotel found in Falmouth, Cornwall. A short stroll from Falmouth Harbour, this hotel has the most beautiful south-facing front which enjoys beachside views… your dogs will be spoilt for choice when it comes to the remarkable coastal walks and clifftop paths available!

Your pooches can join you in the lounge and bar where you can also enjoy the menus, but if you would like a more exquisite fine dining experience in the gourmet restaurant, your furry friends can rest their paws in the room next door. Four-legged friends are provided with waste bags, treats, bowls and a dog guide to ensure they feel just as at home as you do.
